If you’re here for style and the shop, you missed the decade of ‘naked’ deep Melinda. And if you’ve been here since then, then a post like this is nothing new. (Though you may miss her a bit).
For many years, I was healing my relationship to my body, my intuition, my heart, my trauma. I was getting free, out loud.
But the scars life left on me are quite faded now. I smile sometimes when I realize how little about my past ‘new’ folks know. It feels good to not have a public identity built around struggle-and triumph.
While compared to other stores or “brands”, my page and sharing might be considered very “real” and vulnerable. But to me, it’s an entirely different energy than when I shared the ins and outs of my life publicly. I learned a lot about people, and privacy, and boundaries from those times. And honestly, my relationship to my body no longer requires me to document and share it in those ways. If people need that healing, there are 10 years of long ass posts on Melinda Alexander.
So when I felt the desire to post this, I thought I could just grab one of the dozens of photos I’ve shared over the years.
But I wanted it to be of me, now, today, in this version of my body, this version of my life.
I wanted a chance, in real time, to tell my body I love her. Even with all the pain we’ve navigated together-she has mostly served me well.
And I finally have that “probably nothing” procedure in the morning…and I want to speak a blessing over her, and you are welcome to join me. Let us pray that is in fact, nothing. Whatever the outcome, she is strong and safe, and mine, faded scars and all. 🤞🏻
