🕊️ 🤍 Happy Heavenly Birthday To Dress Collector Paul Brockmann 🕊️🤍 His memory lives on in each and every dress he collected, in every dance shared with his lovely wife wearing the dresses and in all the amazing moments each of you have had in the garments he so thoughtfully collected and kept in safe storage.

🤍 Thinking of the impact his collection has had on so many today. My heart is always with his daughter - wife Margot, Son Mike and his grandchildren.

A reminder about why we have been gifted this beautiful dress collection. It was born out of love and lifelong partnership. Mr. Brockmann wanted to ensure his wife had a different dress for every dance. And every time he saw a dress he told me, “I saw my wife in it”. He left us with an award winning collection that spanned the decades and is also size inclusive. Gratitude is owed to his daughter for brining the dresses for sale to the public in the first place back in 2013. 🤍

Many dealers have purchased from me for resale but of owns the largest portion of what remains.

I have 80 pieces tucked away from the 3rd container to share at an appropriate time in my studio. Jenna hosts a show each week, sells on eBay and will host her next in person sale October 2026 in San Gabriel, CA.

Please follow along to see more dresses, learn about Mr. Brockmann’s collection, and the labels - both collectible manufacturers and designer labels in the collection.

Today we commemorate the passing of Paul Brockmann, leaving on this day last year for his next adventure. Paul was a dress collector but he was also a builder, beloved husband, loving father and grandfather. He was a ballroom dancer who loved fishing. He was also a friend to many, including me. I was fortunate to be his business partner in this epic DRESScapade™️. I worked closely with his daughter Louise to bring the collection to the public for sale over a span of several years, container after container, dress after dress. Ultimately he passed knowing the five decades of his work was loved and appreciate by so many and the collection he loved went to homes that care for them and many have allready started their next lives.

Sending so much love today (and always) to the Brockmann family as we take time to reflect of the life and legend of the ultimate dress collector, Mr. Paul Brockmann. Missed forever and always remembered. 🕊️🤍

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of dress collector Paul Brockmann. Paul was a builder for his entire life in many iterations, one of his biggest achievements was his award winning dress collection that he built, dress by dress. More than this he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to so many. His life’s work will live on because of each and every one of you who have purchased a garment from the collection. Paul once told me how it made him happy that his dresses will have another life. I know he was grateful to each of you who bought a dress and connected to these pieces of fashion history. Please join me in offering love and condolences to his family. His wife and inspiration Margot. His loving and dedicated daughter Louise whose help made it possible to bring this collection to you for sale in 2013 and was by my side every step of the way as we sold it. Also to his son Mike, wife Jill and his two grandchildren.

Please honor Paul and his legacy by wearing your dress in his honor and ensuring the life of this beautiful collection will live on forever. From the shores of Germany to our pop up sales in California this dress collection was more than just clothes. It brought people together, inspired people and became part of people’s memories made while wearing them. They were a source of community, connection and happiness to thousands of people around the world and will continue to be.

Paul was inspired to collect these dressed based on his love of his wife and eternal dance partner Margot and his love and passion for the art of dancing. The collection was 55,000+ love letters to her in dress form and he ensured she has a different dress for every dance.

His dress legacy will live on forever in our hearts and closets.

Jenna of is now the caretaker of what remains of the 3rd container. I know Paul was happy she was the one who would carry the collection forward and find new homes for his dresses. I will be sharing what I curated in the new year along with some key pieces direct from Margot’s Arizona walk in closet that Paul custom built for her.

Bless you Mr. Brockmann. Rest in peace.

Paul Brockmann 🤍

55,000 DRESStory

Dress Collector Paul Brockmann has spent over five decades collecting a wide variety of dresses, gowns, skirts, blouses, jackets and bridal gowns. His collection is inspired by the love of his life and wife Margot and their mutual love of dance. Mr. Brockmann’s collection spans all era’s from 1940’s-2000’s. Along with this diversity in era is a wide range of sizes, fabrics, colors, silhouettes and embellishments. This collection has been featured in both domestic and international press, a documentary short and the Guinness Book of World Records.

Paul opened a large warehouse in Gardena, CA in 2013 in an effort to liquidate his vast collection. The space housed only a portion (22,000 pieces) of which he sold approximately 7,000 pieces. He was able to connect with Vintage fashion lovers from around the world in this space that he opened for shopping. With the bulk of his collection still available Paul had to close the warehouse conduct a fruitless search for a buyer for the collection.

2018 is a new year full of new opportunity! Paul has partnered with Stylist Lisa Graystone to open up the collection once again to give the dresses their new lives and also will entertain offers of purchase for the remainder of the collection in it’s entirety, which still over 55,000+ pieces in total. Currently there is a small curated piece of the collection available for purchase online via Evolution Vintage (www.evolultion-vintage.com) that can be shipped globally. A new chapter of this DRESStory has begun ...
