A cool project I never got to share.
With and Kim Min-jae currently in Korea for their preseason tour, it felt like the perfect time to finally post this.
Earlier this year, I had the opportunity to work with Bayern Munich on their Community Exploration docu-series, where they highlighted communities around the world through the lens of football. I was honored to be part of the Koreatown, Los Angeles episode.
Koreatown was the first place I called home after moving to LA from Virginia. Like so many Korean immigrants, it became much more than just a neighborhood. It was a place that gave me a sense of belonging, reminded me of my roots, and helped shape the person I am today.
Over the next few days, Iāll be sharing a few moments from the episode where I talk about what Koreatown means to me, the impact itās had on generations of Korean immigrants, and how football has always been the thread connecting so many of our stories.
Sometimes we forget that even world class athletes are simply people searching for a place to call home. As they travel from city to city, those places inevitably shape who they become. Just as Munich has become part of Kim Min-jaeās story, Koreatown became part of mine.
