Through studying fashion her entire life, it was designer Nicola Angelos’s intention to create a brand that others could react, adapt, and have fun with. SHAGBAGG began as a dream while attending design school in 2010 when Nicola envisioned a “shaggy” bag, only to discover her dream subconsciously offered that “out of the box” concept she was looking for. Nicola always had an enthusiasm for how peace in contrast to revolution was expressed through fashion during the late 1960s, and this relates to today in that we are also a generation desperate to break out of society’s self-imposed constructs. This can compared through SHAGBAGG’s traditional silhouette’s paired with nonconventional, retro-inspired SHAG. Since it’s inception over 5 years ago, SHAGBAGG has been adopted by fashion-conscious, free-spirited individuals worldwide from our home base of L.A.

Like an empty canvas, every S**GBAGG begins with possibility. This piece started as white S**G before I hand tie-dyed the textile, never knowing exactly how the colors would develop. As the blues, lavender, chartreuse, and golden tones emerged, I couldn't stop thinking about a painted night sky.

So this one became Starry Night. ✨
