Author life just hit different 🌟

When fellow authors say, “Let’s wear shirts featuring our characters” at a book festival, you end up doing something you never fully imagined at the start of this journey. Not just writing her. Not just watching her come to life on the page. But wearing her.

Seeing Amara on a shirt feels surreal in the best way. She started as an idea, then a story, then a presence on the page. Now she moves into the real world with us.🩰✨

I also want to take a moment to genuinely thank my illustrator, , for seeing what I carried in my imagination and translating it with such care. You gave Amara her face, her light, her magic, and I will always be grateful for that.

I’m so excited to be part of the Black Children’s Book Festival at Malik Books where I’ll be sharing my children’s book Let’s Chase The Moon, beautifully illustrated by Lika Kvirikashvili ( ).

This book is for the dreamers.
For the curious kids.
For the children who think differently, feel deeply, ask big questions, and shine in their own way.

Around here, ADHD is not “too much.” It’s imagination. It’s creativity. It’s brilliance. 🚀

And honestly? Representation matters. Seeing Black children centered in stories about possibility, adventure, intelligence, and joy matters.
