Localish™ apparel represents the mindset of explorers, wanderers, and thinkers who find a place of belonging and community wherever we find ourselves. We share a genuine love for all the places we inhabit, temporarily or permanently. We aim to redefine the traditional meaning of ‘local’ to be more open, unconfined, and unrestricted. To be ‘local’ is truly a state of mind, rather than location based. We are locals wherever we feel at home. Localish was created and inspired from our surf travel adventures and learning about cultures worldwide. The people in countries we’ve visited are so welcoming and open; they make us feel like we are one of the locals. The old adage of “Locals Only” in today’s world is prohibitive, unwelcoming, and dare we say ethnocentric. We roll our eyes at signs that say “Locals Only”, but we also take the time to respect the locations and cultures we discover. You see, it’s a two-way street. As a traveler, localish means respecting and understanding the cultures around you. As a local, localish means welcoming others and sharing your culture.
