You are bidding on an amazing collection of embalming licenses (8 yrs 1914-1922) held by a woman named Minnie L. Brady. She officially held Kansas Embalmer's License No. 614 with Dual-State Credentials. Before practicing extensively in Kansas, she initially held Certificate No. 1341 issued by the Missouri State Board of Embalming. She cross-registered this to obtain her initial Kansas license on June 30, 1914. (AS INDICATED IN FIRST LICENSE)
What makes this so unique is that entering the funeral industry in the 1910s made her part of an early wave of women breaking into a heavily male-dominated field. During this time, female embalmers were highly sought after to handle the care and preparation of deceased women and children, offering families a greater sense of modesty and comfort during the mourning process. An awesome collection for sure!
