How we do it. By donating a portion of our sales to the soon to be non profit "The Umbrella Program," anyone requiring gender expressive goods or services in our sibling store GENDERWORX (open 6/16/23) will be able to apply, if needed, for a micro grant from The Umbrella Program's "Unicorn Care Fund" to help reduce the cost of their goods or services. Funds granted may also be used for clothing/accessories in The Umbrella Stand. Why do we need to help? Many physical needs of transgender individuals are not covered by insurance or met sufficiently by sporadic support focused community events. The ever present discrimination of transgender people in the workplace often exacerbates the financial struggle to meet these needs. Want to get involved? Donate to us!
-We take donations of all kinds and nothing is wasted. All items that don't make it to the sales floor are: redistributed to other LOCAL charity organizations, sold in bulk to other small businesses like us with the same "sales floor %" going to the Unicorn Care Fund, or if clothing -sold in bulk with the FULL proceeds going to the Unicorn Care Fund.
-We always need taller feminine clothing/shoes and smaller masculine clothes/shoes
-We do accept undergarments. For ease of donating we say "all kinds" because it is easier for us to sort them onsite than to try and list them comprehensively here.
-Pronouns shifted recently? Bring us your old pins to become a permanent part of Gender Vendor history!
-Make a financial donation of any amount to The Unicorn Care Fund and receive a free graphic pride sticker of your choice at checkout.
*The only items we are unable to accept are large furniture pieces. This is due to space limitations. For large quantities or specialty items- please allow for minimum 2-3 day turnaround or call to schedule dropoff in advance. For all other buy orders please allow 1-2 day turnaround. Please check current buying price menu for avg. price ranges prior to selling so you know what to expect on arrival.
