Big welcome to Gemma! 🎉 We’re excited to have her joining the KCRS team!

You likely have seen Gemma helping time races with Bigfoot Timing & Race Management. She also WON the St. Albert the Great's Viking Dash 5K last night, so help us give Gemma a big congrats and a big KCRS welcome! 👏

Gemma's favorite running gear includes ChicknLegs and Saucony Endorphins, and her favorite races are the Pride Run and IHR Thanksgiving 5 Miler.

What she loves most about the running community is how supportive and inclusive it is whether you’re racing, cheering, or pushing yourself toward something new.

We’ll be introducing more new staff members over the next few weeks, so stay tuned and say hi when you see Gemma in the shop.

The track is still closed, so the crew hit the Norbourne Loop again and made the most of it together. Huge thanks to everyone who came out, got in the work, and kept the good vibes going.

Hot weather is hard enough. Your gear should not be the reason your run turns into a chafe-fest. 😅

Before you head out, keep these tips in mind:

1️⃣ Choose the right fabric – Wear moisture-wicking gear that fits well and avoids bulky seams in high-rub areas.

2️⃣ Use anti-chafe balm – Apply before your run to thighs, underarms, sports bra lines, waistbands, or anywhere gear rubs.

3️⃣ Check your fit – Skip anything too loose or too tight. Aim for secure, comfortable gear that moves with you.

4️⃣ Protect your feet – Wear technical socks and make sure your shoes are not rubbing as feet swell in the heat.

5️⃣ Change quickly after – Get out of sweaty clothes soon to prevent irritation from moisture and salt.

Louisville had a big weekend in running. 🏅

Our track sessions are FREE, fun, and open to all paces. We’ll be back at Waggener this week for a speed workout you can make your own.

Here’s the plan:
✅ Easy 10-minute warm up + strides
✅ 10 x 1 minute hard / 1 minute off
✅ 4-minute progression: 1 easy, 1 steady, 1 hard, 1 strong/all out
✅ Easy 10-minute warm down

Come chase a little speed, meet some running friends, and start the week strong with us.
