For many trans women, weddings are powerful expressions of gender euphoria. "I always wanted to get married, and I've always visualized myself as a bride," Corey Rae tells Popsugar. The hair, the makeup, the nails — creating their dream aesthetic — is like a fairy tale come to life.
But that fairy tale often comes on the heels of years of oppression. "I just didn't see [marriage] for myself and I didn't allow myself to think of it because . . . I'd never seen that happen for a trans woman," Arisce Wanzer-Harding says. PS contributor Devon Preston speaks to Rae and Wanzer-Harding along with YouTuber Gigi Gorgeous Getty and TikToker Jamie Pandit about their bridal beauty experiences, and why these stories matter now more than ever.
