Hello, my name is Carrie and since around 2013 I have been helping my community in different ways through the IAMDOPE project (I'm the founder), from feeding the homeless, shoe and coat drives, sending supplies to flood and tornado victims, to helping individuals suffering from addictions to get treatment, paying past due bills, school tuitions and classes, finding jobs, and helping single mothers with supplying their kids gifts for the holidays. Even when I was a child, I was always willing to help others in need. Since 2016 our biggest campaign has been helping single mothers obtain and maintain safe housing. A lot of women are misplaced due to domestic violence, unfair housing practices, income loss, and other unforeseen circumstances. The State of Kentucky makes these women jump through hoops just to receive a little help, Right now they are sitting on $38 million for housing and haven't released a dime to help anyone. I help mothers who need temporary safe places to live while I help them find a permanent place to call home. These women sometimes have lost everything and don't have the credentials to get through the red tape. Some come in the middle of the night because their lives are in danger. I have been having small fundraisers and using my own money to assist these ladies. Alone I've helped 18 women and I would love to assist so much more.
When you donate, your contribution will go towards helping pay utilities, purchase supplies, clothing and necessity needs, and helping to keep the safe temporary spaces stocked and ready when new families come for their short stays (which could last up to 6 weeks). $30, 000 won't go far but it's a start to get the temporary property going and to help a few moms sleep safely at night.
Thank you and I appreciate anything you can contribute.
