I'm told) love to share their knowledge with others, and would love to get their work notices, but many times do not have the outlet to show their work because of the unknown-how do I find booths to sell at, how do I find the right social media for my type of work, how do I know when to pay taxes, how do I get my name out there, how do I photograph my goods for sale? These are but a small number of questions asked. I have also asked all the questions possible. AND FROM ALL THESE QUESTIONS THE TURQUOISE ADOBE STUDIO WAS BORN!!!! The mission of the Studio is to open the doors to all who crave an artistic outlet, opening the doors for those young and well seasoned, inspiring them to grow within their creative skills and bring about the confidence and desire to display their work to others. Being an ADD Artist, collecting and deciding which unique and fun items and fabrics will be used to create a new, up-cycled piece of jewelry, apron, bag or accessories is the most exciting part of the creative process for me. Working on a project I can see in my head and bringing it to fruitation is such a dynamic feeling of accomplishment. I just want to let everyone know about it! This is the feeling I want all who pass through the Turquoise Adobe Studio to experience. By having a working studio at the school, surrounding myself with the best Instructors around energizes the whole area for all. The old saying, "You are who you hang around with" is so true. Children especially need to have inspiration to create as a normal, everyday part of their lives just as the rest of us do. Become who you want to be by spending time with those who inspire you, those that can teach you what you want to learn, and those who will provide the insight to you to display and market your creations. I have collected so much Vintage Jewelry, Stones, Chains, Buttons, Fabrics,and Unique Beads that I would have to be 300 before I could use everything I have. I am opening up my great hoards of treasured findings for all to enjoy. Sometimes it just takes a glance at a piece of Vintage Jewelry to make your heart flutter with desire to hold, touch, and make into a focal event for a piece of jewelry. SO---WHAT IS THE TURQUOISE ADOBE STUDIO? We are here for youngsters on up to "older age" Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings will be an exciting time for the younger crowd to congregate and learn from the best. We have workshops and classes scheduled throughout the week. We also have drop-in time to just come in and pick something to do.
