We used to sing this as a praise song- He gives me beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garments of Praise For the spirit of heaviness.
The Lord is reminding me that even though Steve has dementia, he still loves me,the kids, the grandkids. That when Steve says I really want to show you something, and it’s the beauty of the sunset, the sunrise, even the haze over the bean fields, I am reminded to see the beauty of God’s creation. Driving Elizabeth to Lafayette for infusion’s, Lori Lyn being in a car accident, Katie’s up coming surgery/ these can become a heavy burden on this Mom, Memaws heart. But In the end if I keep Praising my Lord my spirit of heaviness will become a garment of Praise.
I am only human and make many mistakes, don’t always allow the Lord to shine. Times I just want to give up, why bother. Then the above song comes to my heart and I know WHY!
