It was my first time entering baked goods in the. Plumas Sierra County Fair since I was a kid, and thankfully my baking has improved! I’m honored that the sourdough bread that I teach people how to make and the chocolate chip cookies I share (and sell at Camps Coffee popups) earned enough points to bring home the third place overall ribbon in the Baked Food Sweepstakes 😊

So, who’s competing against me next year? 😂

Also, the only picture I was able to take of my entires and ribbons before Goose decided she needed to taste them as well 🤦‍♀️

We loved having Assemblymember Heather Hadwick stop by Girl & Goose and Lombardi Mercantile during her busy day in Sierra Valley!

It means a lot when our local leaders take the time to visit small businesses and see what makes our little communities so special. Small businesses are the heart of towns like ours, and we're grateful to have someone representing us in Sacramento who values that.

The best time of year!

🇺🇸 Make a Day of It in Downtown Loyalton! 🇺🇸

The parade steps off at 10:00 AM, so grab your camp chairs, claim a good spot along Main Street, and send someone to pick up fresh coffee and donuts from the Rotary booth while you wait!

When the parade ends, the fun is just getting started. Stay right in downtown to enjoy the Rotary Fundraiser BBQ lunch:

🌭 Grilled Loaded Hot Dog Plate – $12
Served with chips and watermelon

🥪 Smoked Pulled Pork Sandwich with Slaw – $16
Served with chips and watermelon (shoutout to The Farmhouse 🙌)

🍰 Then stick around for our famous Dessert Auction at noon, where you can bid on homemade treats from talented local bakers.
