More about Roberta:
A native of Lynchburg, Virginia, Roberta Scrivener spent twenty years working as a graphic artist before returning to school in her late thirties to pursue her lifelong passion for art. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Art Studio, with a concentration in Classics, from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College, followed by a Master of Education from Lynchburg College.
After completing her degrees, Roberta taught Art K–12 and Language Arts for many years at a private school in Lynchburg. Now working part-time with Lynchburg Grows, she is embracing a new chapter centered on her own creative practice.
Roberta especially enjoys working in pastel and watercolor, as well as printmaking and oil painting. Her work is inspired largely by the natural world, drawing on the beauty, color, and quiet details found in nature.
Her artwork can be found in private collections, both institutional and individual, throughout Virginia, New York, Connecticut, California, North Carolina, and New Jersey.
As new opportunities allow her to create and exhibit her work, Roberta is grateful for the chance to return to her art with renewed energy and enthusiasm. She looks forward to sharing this new chapter with the community.

My name is Lawson Bendall, and I’m a freshman at E.C. Glass High School. My interest in jewelry making grew from a lifetime surrounded by art and creativity.
I come from a long line of people who appreciate and create art. My grandmother is an artist, and my aunt owns an art gallery, so creativity has always been a part of my life. Growing up around art encouraged me to explore my own creative interests and find a medium that felt uniquely mine.
While traveling in France and Greece, I was fascinated by the jewelry I encountered—from modern designs to historic pieces that reflected the culture and artistry of their time. Seeing the incredible variety of jewelry in these places sparked a creative interest in me and inspired me to begin making jewelry of my own.
