There are lots of new folks here so I guess I should say hello! Hi! I’m Mel - I’m a lot of things. Here, you’ll see primarily my silversmithing work, PA Dutch folk magic, Tarot Tuesdays, dogs I’m walking, plants I’m hanging out with, occasional nonsense posting and unraveling, miscellaneous spiritual musings, and attempts to advocate for things that matter to me. Memento Mori - Latin for “remember that you have to die.” In a culture kept so separate from death, we sometimes need a little reminder. Here lies a bit of wing from an Eastern Swallowtail butterfly, found among the pebbles along the Wissahickon River. Set beneath glass with a bit of yarrow to nourish it along it’s path. Let it in turn comfort you with your own acceptance of the inevitable end of all things.

January’s 𝙿 𝚊̈ • 𝚝 𝚛 𝟹 • 𝚘̈ 𝚗́ goodie boxes contained, among other things, ingredients for protection magick. Shimmering black salt, American porcupine quills, and black tourmaline can all be used with intentions of security and active defense. Jewelry tier gifts were authentic coffin nails (aka witch nails), which were blessed and anointed, secured in sterling necklaces for on-the-go safety and protection.
I’m working on a big write-up on protection magic, which I think I may have to divide into parts because there’s just too much to say!
