A staggering 1 in 10 babies will be born before their time and will fight a hard battle that no baby should have to fight...the fight to survive!

Those of us that have had a NICU journey know that it is a roll coaster of emotions and breathtaking turns along a road that seems to wind on forever. Days are filled with helpless moments when you can't do for your own child. At night, you cry because you have to leave them behind. The weeks of ups and downs leave you waiting to hear the nurse say they had a great day or night only to have a set back later in the evening. The path is constantly changing and it leaves you emotionally and physically drained yet you show up, day and night, for a chance to change a diaper, a chance to touch or hold your child, a chance to be the parent you were meant to be! And.....
All this time, your little one is fighting a battle that you can only watch, hope and pray that they survive. That baby quickly becomes the strongest person you have ever known.

Our daughter was born at 29wk 2days, weighing 2lb 14 oz, 21 years ago. We are so blessed that she has thrived in every way. She has overcome and accomplished so much in her life. She recently earned her Bachelors degree in English/creative writing, a certified personal trainer, certified nutrition coach, dance teacher/choreographer for a local dance studio. She loves working with kids. We are so proud of her all of her hard work and effort over the years. We pray that she will continue to succeed in any endeavor she chooses to pursue!

So many little miracles!

I know it's been awhile since I have posted on our Preemie Proud page. Just dropping in to check on everyone. We are still slowly recovering from Hurricane Michael still. We are still working on our "new to us" house and slowly rebuilding. It is taking time...a lot of time..lol. But...we are are all good, healthy and blessed.

Our former micro preemie will be 20 in October and is starting her senior year of college finishing up her bachelor's degree. She still continues to dance competively some, teaches multiple dance classes a week to various ages and has gotten certified as a personal trainer. She is doing amazing and we continue to be so proud of her and all her accomplishments.

How are you guys? Update me on all those not so little babies anymore.
