Chapter 5 of our story: BABY! 💓 This business has been my first baby for so long and for the past 9 months, I’ve been preparing to let it go so I can make space for our real baby. It’s been challenging in ways I didn’t expect. Hiring so many people, delegating, documenting, training, etc. But everyday I’m making and more space for nesting, relaxing and preparing for our baby girl.

It feels a bit surreal to go out to lunch in the middle of the day, start new crafts, prep the nursery (huge love to .sierra for all the hand-me-down baby clothes), have super long porch hangs with Husbee and spend as much time at the river with the pups. But I’m loving every minute of it.🥹 The path to get here was long and challenging, but I can feel this next chapter and it is as sweet as it could be.

Chapter 1ish of our story to celebrate our 4 Year Anniversary today! 🎉🍾🙌🥳 While I officially launched Lyons Leather Co. in 2022, I started making my handsewn prototypes in 2019. But even before that, in 2012, I was at a Red Rocks concert trying to dance with some heavy Italian leather shoulder bag that was very cute, but not super practical. I wasn’t about to ruin my outfit with a sporty waist pack. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Initially I started designing a jacket that could replace a bag, but realizing jackets are seasonal, I threw that idea out and started looking for my convertible dream pouch. Literally looked and looked for 10 years. To be honest, I never thought of myself as creative so the ideal of making something wasn’t top of mind. It took years of buying bags that weren’t quite “it” and many frustrating packing experiences bringing 3 bags for one trip before I busted out of my comfort zone.🐣

It took a lay off in 2022 to make me realize the handsewn prototypes I had been giving to friends and family could be a thing. What kinda thing, I literally had no idea.😂

The journey has been sooooooo fun and also insanely hard. But everyday I am still obsessed with this community, our pouches and the daily challenges.🥹

Today is my 39th trip around the sun and somehow I’m still the exact same as I was when I was 5.🥹 Still love bags, kittens, dresses, big brother, gritting my teeth when I get excited and rubber animals (not pictured, but definitely in my plastic Little Mermaid purse). Grateful for being an 80s baby, for doing the walk of life and picking up all the lessons along the way. Aging is a gift, wisdom is a blessing. I think this one will be the biggest yet.💓
