Inspirational!!! 💙

26-year-old Armani Williams has made history as NASCAR's first openly autistic driver. The Detroit native was diagnosed with autism at 2 years old and was nonverbal early in life. Ever since he was a kid, he always loved race tracks and quickly found something he loved. He started go-kart racing at the age of 8 and kept going. And one race at a time, he reached professional tracks.

In an interview with Autism Speaks, Armani's father Del Williams said, "I have so much fun being his dad. Just supporting him and helping him." In 2018, Armani competed in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series. Today, he uses his racing career to show others what is possible. He speaks about autism so kids who feel different do not feel alone. Armani said, "All you have to do is just to continue to believe in yourself and stay encouraged no matter what."

The proposed “Joshua Alert” law in Ohio is named in memory of six-year-old Joshua Al‑Lateef Jr. 🪽, a non-speaking child with autism who wandered away from his home and drowned in a nearby pond in 2024.

The legislation seeks to establish a specialized emergency alert system for missing children with autism or developmental disabilities—similar to an Amber Alert but tailored to cases where children are at high risk due to wandering or elopement.

The name “Joshua Alert” honors Joshua’s life and aims to ensure that his death leads to preventive action, giving urgent public notice and mobilizing communities when a vulnerable child goes missing. 🤍
