is the co-founder of .newyork, a business renting historical designer fashion pieces to photo shoots, movies and celebrities, including many musicians. With operations situated in NYC and Los Angeles, they are the go-to house for this kind of service as also featured in their early days in none other than Vogue.

I met Hugh through the watch scene in New York, and he’s someone with whom I’ve exchanged many a DM’s whether it be about watches, travel, and certainly restaurants. I guess this conversation is best summarized as being more along the lines of a peek into our dialogue. A long-form DM that’s on the record, if you will.

Hugh has owned (and owns) some of my favorite watches on the planet, and I’m always stoked to chat fashion with someone who really knows their stuff. Hugh’s knowledge of fashion is funny for me as someone 10+ years his senior since he now knows more about these older pieces than I do, and I was reading about them in GQ & Esquire when he was still in grade school.

Today I welcome back the Chief Design Officer of IWC, Christian Knoop. Though we technically saw one another in Geneva, sadly, we didn’t spend much time together aside from quickly saying hello. This is part of why I wanted to invite him back on the show as well as delve into the how’s and whys behind their 2026 releases. There were a lot of watches from Schaffhausen presented, so I couldn’t wait to speak with Christian.

We begin with some conversation about his home, which is where he was when recording, of course we discuss the watches, and we wrap things up with his Summer plans which include a school for Richemont in Milan that I was completely unaware of. I hope you enjoy it.

I hope the weekend is treating you well so far! As a follow-up to the Pre-Order for the Mugello Suede Jacket in Sand Beige, I wanted to let you know this is going on through the end of June. Production will then begin and subsequently shipped once I’ve taken delivery of them from the factory in LA.

I can tell you, this was a fairly ambitious project last Fall. Sourcing Italian calf skin suede, finding a nice lining, plus all of the details such as how to execute the internal label, as well as find a nice, smooth zipper and snap buttons for the cuffs and tab collar. It was all worth it.

I’m super proud of this garment, and it falls in line with the types of products you can expect going forward from STANDARD H. The move towards an elevated product assortment has less to do with some kind of Rich Guy lifestyle, and more about creating and executing products worthy of MUCH more expensive price tags, thus, offering you more value for your money compared to other brands carrying similar items. As I’ve half-joked in the past, but it certainly holds true: the goal of STANDARD H is to offer quality products that might be somewhat aspirational (in price) for some, while feeling like an absolute bargain for a Billioinaire. Now, most things may feel like a “bargain” when you’re flush with cash, however, you often don’t get there by spending money...so the value is felt by all.

Friendly reminder: if you’d actually prefer the Dark Olive from last Fall, I’d be more than happy to have that made for you, so that’s also been made available as a Pre-Order!

Welcome back to another bonus episode where Blake Buettner of the deep Track and I catch up, talk watches, as well as share our latest thoughts about the Formula One season.

Today we chat about the new tutor bumblebee, we do somewhat of a deep dive on the Rolex Daytona, we get into a little bit of this weekend‘s Le Mans race, and then we wrapped things up with Formula One.

We’ve got an exciting European schedule ahead for the 11 teams involved, so stay tuned for a future episode sometime between now and August.

From modern to vintage pieces, this month’s auction, and some baseball chat. and I first connected at either OMBAS 2025 at Walt Grace Vintage for the Menta Watches event, or perhaps it was Rolliefest last Fall. We had some great conversation only to then see one another inside the orbit of Watches and Wonders back in April.

His appointment at A. Lange & Söhne happened to be immediately before mine, so we decided to join forces to create one large, two-time-slot-size appointments to maximize our time there. We went on to have lunch together where we were joined by none other than another previous Hodinkee employee, Jon Bues, so needless to say, we had some quality time at the venue together.

Rich is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to watches, and I was delighted to learn he would be interested in coming on this show as it seem I never have enough time with him, plus I knew nothing about his foray into watches or what he loves most. That’s all here, so I hope you enjoy it along with a small surprise by way of his time spent playing baseball.
