Ridgeway Leatherworks Hand crafted leathergoods for Emergency Services Professionals. Firefighter owned and operated. Made My foray into leather work was a fairly straightforward one.

I challenged myself to take on a new hobby, and build a custom leather dog collar for my Doberman's first birthday. Having no leather retailers in my state that I could go and see in person, the first 6 months was ordering material, some working, others not so much. A lot of waiting on hardware deliveries. My first collar for JΓ€ger was the 12 gauge collar, and from there leather work for me has be

come a cathartic output, allowing me to lose my troubles while buried in my work. Enter Firefighter accessories. I've been a firefighter for a Central Jersey fire department for the past 12 years. For those here looking for dog collars and not in the know, firefighters love all things leather. Radio straps, glove straps, and helmets. The volume of my business goes to the fire service, however i'd be telling a lie if I didn't admit to enjoying doing collars more. Follow up pictures of a happy puppy and their new neck wear beats a salty firefighter showcasing his new radio strap to me. Thanks for looking at my shop!

Proud to be a part of notable moments in the fire service. Every year, the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial dedicates a service for Brothers and Sisters lost in the line of duty. Here our good friend Deputy Chief Beattie (Ret.) helping getting the flag squared away before the event last weekend in Emmitsburg, MD.

Hose bed straps to the right πŸ‘‰
They chose to label theirs for each of their loads. 3", 5", and Set Back for long stretches.

This one was a cool find as I grew up in that area and that company was my introduction to the fire service 25 years or so ago. 🀘

There's that secret little tie in. All Federal Q2Bs are equipped with a siren brake. Those brakes are actually made of leather. Neat right?

That said, there's no shortage of jokes to be made about who uses the siren brake. Balls to the walls all day every day. If you've been doing it long enough, turning the sirens off after you've taken a cancelation, or roll up to a call with the siren blaring and the brass standing right in the front of your apparatus might win you some brownie points for not blasting their ears out.

Anyhow, they exist for a reason and are wearable parts. We've silently been testing these out in companies in and around NJ, as well as an FDNY company or two over the last year. They'll be available for purchase in the coming days. We're also finishing up a step by step "how to" on how to replace them. Have a great rest of your Sunday!

The fire service and leather have history. Just as the Q siren also being seen as a traditional hallmark of the fire service. You're never gonna believe that the Q2B and leather also crossover between the two. Would you like to know more?

More Blue and Brass to start off the weekend. New batch is well underway. Show prep is stacking up. We will be bringing a large assortment of colors, small items, and some new ones to our shows this year.

Relieved to finally after a number of years get ahead of show season with inventory rather than getting together what we can right up until we leave. 100mph all day every day. πŸŽπŸ’¨
