It’s with much emotion that I write this. The announcement I have been dreading.
dapyr14 storefront will be closing on May 31.
The business will remain online and social media. This is NOT the decision I wanted to make for my store. I want to have an actual store in Mangum. After looking at numbers for months, it became inevitable— it’s simply not making the profit needed to stay open.
I’m sad and I’m sorry to my loyal customers that I feel like I have let down.
I know this comes as a surprise to some, but it has actually been a long and painful decision over the last several months. Even though I had several challenges and damages last month, this is not due to that, it was coming before those things happened.
I understand that many will have opinions and that is fine. I know there are things I maybe could have done differently (that likely wouldn’t change this outcome anyway), but at this time in my life I have to choose what the priorities of my time must be. We could go on and on about why it didn’t work, (economy, small town, the way people shop, etc.) but at this point, I’m sick and tired of it going through my head.
I know the people that wanted to support this business did and the people that didn’t want to —didn’t.
That’s life and I have to move on.
Other than running the website and continuing social media, I do not know what my next step will be.
I have a lot of inventory ti move within a few weeks, so yes, there will be a sale.
The hours until the last day (May 31) will be
Monday-Friday 12-6 • Saturday 10-3
I’m so thankful to my customers who have supported this business, I hope you still can and will.
my dapyr girls - Reese, Jossalyn & Amanda , you’ve done way more than hang clothes, clean mirrors and keep books, I appreciate you more than words can say.
My friends and family who have been there for me as they knew what was happening behind the scenes and always had words of understanding and love.
Butch &Nancy, you have been wonderful. I’m going to miss this space tremendously.
