Richard Linklater has been called the last maverick of parallel cinema. He makes his art so fluid that you lose yourself and just hang in there to go wherever he decides to take you.
BUT fanboy-ing aside, he is grossly underrated and unknown . He's already directed his next film and no ones talking about it yet.

Film Society, "Chitrarth" hosted its first event, Filmistaan 2k17 on 8th September at MPSTME. The event was a huge success with over 150 people joining in. The event boasted of fun games like Taboo, Picture Quiz, and a Game of Thrones-based game. With fun and peppy beats in the background, the movie-based event turned out to be great as students ranging from freshers to seniors came and had fun.

Inspirational Story #3

Nawazuddin Siddiqui:
Faizal Khan, who rides through Wasseypur, striking fear in the hearts of those who wrong him, could not be portrayed by anyone else than Mr. Siddiqui. An NSD graduate, he had to struggle for more than 10 years before he got an actual "break" in the film industry. The actor, known for his off-beat roles in films like Manjhi- The Mountain Man, Raman Raghav 2.0, and Haraamkhor wasn't always the star we know today.

1) He started off with very minute and blink-and-miss appearances in films like Sarfarosh and Munnabhai MBBS.
2) He worked as a watchman to support himself during his struggle.
3) He was often rejected for roles because he could not fit the description of a Hindi-film hero.

Today, he's one of the most sought after actors throughout the world and that's only because he did not give in or give up when others did.

Inspirational Story #2
Shah Rukh Khan:
Who else can immortalize the dialogue,"Bade bade deshon mein aisi chhoti chhotti baatein hoti rehti hain" better than this man? Truly, Shah Rukh Khan, or SRK, is a global icon today. The one-man show who has delivered commercial as well as critically successful films like Devdas, Swades and Chak De India has put Indian cinema on the world map, becoming one of the highest-paid actors in the world!!! But what if I tell you, this wasn't always the case.
1) While in his 20s, he tried his hand at a restaurant business in Delhi but failed.
2) His first earning was Rs. 50. He spent it by going to Agra to visit the Taj Mahal.
3) When he started out, he had no place to sleep while in Mumbai. One day he simply shouted,"One day I'll own this city". Who knew that would happen 25 years down the line.
4) He himself sold tickets for his film, "Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa".

"My father told me, 'Do something you love. If not then do nothing. Cuz those who do nothing do wonders!!'" - Dr. Shah Rukh Khan.

Amitabh Bachchan:
The face of films like Don, Zanjeer, Piku and the evergreen, Sholay, Amitabh Bachchan has been regarded as one of the finest actors the world has ever seen. But things weren't always hunky dory for our beloved "Vijay". Here are some instances from his days of struggle that molded him:
1) The voice that shaped films like Don, Kaalia, and Shamitabh, was once rejected by radio stations.
2) Mr. Bachchan had to spend a few nights on a bench at Marine drive during his struggling days.
3) One of the today's most bankable stars, he gave 12 flops before delivering his first hit ‘Zanjeer’.

There's determination. There's will power. And then, there's Poorna. Directed and produced by Rahul Bose, this is one exemplary example of undying hope and spirit. Poorna Malawath, played by Aditi Inamdar, is the youngest girl to climb Mt. Everest. Aditi gives established actors a run for their money and proves it to the world that "Ladkiyan kuch bhi kar sakti hain"!!!
