Come with us as the New York Junior League’s Advocates for Public Policy Committee travels to Albany for our annual Advocacy Day, an opportunity to bring the voices of 2,500+ members and 60+ community partners directly to state leadership. Throughout the day, we conducted ~36 meetings with Senators and Assembly members, advocating for five critical pieces of legislation: expanding access to universal childcare, protecting survivors through the Speak Your Truth Act, securing housing stability for victims of domestic violence, increasing SNAP minimum benefits to combat food insecurity, and strengthening safety and accountability in transportation. Our 2026 focus areas include advancing women’s health and equality, poverty relief, mental health equity, and domestic violence prevention. We are committed to driving meaningful, policy-level change. Advocacy Day was a major success, raising awareness, building momentum, and strengthening support for policies that will shape a more equitable future for women, children, and families across New York.
