Did you know founder + CEO Jacqueline City] often works as a public speaker, mentor, and disability advocate? Jacqueline often speaks at health and wellness or women’s events as well as works directly with colleges and young female entrepreneurs. Jacqueline can also comment as a disability expert and an inclusive fashion expert. Email [email protected] to set up an interview or speaking engagement ❤️ About Jacqueline City: Jacqueline started Jacqueline City Apparel as the new approach to fashion which she says is an inclusive brand focusing on vegan, slow fashion. City dreamt of inclusivity because she felt ostracized due to her disabilities and wanted everyone to have a place to express themselves. City went from bedridden where she lost 50 pounds to the catwalks of New York Fashion Week in a few short years and now wants to inspire others with her story of hope and recovery. Some behind the scenes of our New York Fashion Week show for that launched our “Heroes.” Collection, which is an inclusive and inspirational collection that focuses on how we are all warriors fighting our own individual battles everyday but we all find the strength to keep going. It was very important to to hire diverse models who inspired her in some way and really captured her dream of diversity not only on the runway but in media in general. The collection benefits many charities as did the show. Photos by Shop Jacquelinecity.com 🌸

Repost from

Jacqueline City explained both Emily and Sarah’s looks on TikTok. “Emily is very sensitive to clothing, so I did not create her an outfit head-to-toe,” she said. Rather, Jacqueline provided a number of options for her to choose from, due to the fact that Emily has a skin condition that makes a majority of fabrics uncomfortable.

“I wanted to give her the room to be able to choose her own outfit,” Jacqueline said. “Her sensory issues are part of her story and I want to recognize that and draw attention to the fact that that is an accommodation that a lot of people need.”

For Sarah’s ensemble, Jacqueline wanted to capture the beauty in battle scars. “Something that really inspires me from Sarah’s story is that she is a survivor,” Jacqueline explained. She embellished Sarah’s tulle skirt with chains, swords, and small tears to represent the challenges and hardships she has overcome.

“If you look closely, there are a lot of imperfections, but if you look far away, she kind of looks like a princess because she’s still really feminine and beautiful,” she said. “But those flaws are what brought her here. They are her battle scars.”

I love the care and consideration put into designing these garments. Read the full article here: https://www.seventeen.com/celebrity/a39125732/tiktok-stars-nyfw/
