Hats by Kat and Accessories Too is for promoting milliner Kathy Anderson work. Kathy Anderson is a graduate of FIT in Marketing, and millinery certificate program. She has worked for more than 25 years in fashion industry in production, purchasing, textile, sportswear, lingerie, and swimwear. Kathy returned to FIT in 1989 to take varies courses in fashion styling, knitting, flower making and milli
nery, and fell in love with this art form. Taken more than 15 millinery courses with the likes of Ann Albrizio who founded the program and Nora Navarro. She traveled to France last year to take a course with British milliner Dillon Wallwork. All of her couture hand blocked and sewn hats are made in her studio in Manhattan. Kathy has a line of cut and sew fabric, leather, faux fur and real fur hats. She makes beautiful leather flower bouquet and pins. The leather bouquet can be made for wedding, and bridal party. Kathy hats have been featured in Today Black Woman magazine, hats wore by Judith Jamison of Alvin Ailey and carried at the Hat Shop in Solo ,Tribal Truth Collections in Brooklyn. Kathy work has been showcase along with other members of the Milliners Guild at ArtsWestchester at an exhibit “HAT-titude” 2014, “ Night and Day” exhibit at National Arts Club in Manhattan 2013 as well as “ Fashion Institute of Technology exhibit “One Block Many Milliners” 2012. Also been in New York Times for the Easter Parade several times in past years , Woman Wear Daily online paper and Hat Life 2015. Kathy is apart of Diaspora Art Mart which is a collection of artisans who come together every second Saturday of the month at the Skylight Gallery 3rd floor Restoration Plaza Fulton Street downtown Brooklyn to sell our work.
