We are thrilled to be a part of CFDA: Defining American Style exclusive auction by donating this 1973 Fall Halston Ultrasuede ensemble.  Inspired by menswear and Japanese art, the utilitarian-style jacket, A-line skirt, and obi belt showcase Halston’s groundbreaking approach to American Sportswear. The ensemble is paired with an olive 100% Italian Cashmere long-sleeve turtleneck sweater. Adding the finishing touch is a brown wool bucket hat, adorned with trapunto stitching on the brim and grosgrain interior trim detail. Throwing parties and entertaining was something I loved. I always maintained a vibrant social life, my favorite things to serve at my parties were caviar baked potatoes and midori sours. Recipe below!
•  2 ounces (4 tablespoons) Midori
•  ½ ounce (1 tablespoon) lime juice
•  ½ ounce (1 tablespoon) lemon juice
•  2 ounces (4 tablespoons) soda water to top
•  Ice, for serving
•  For the garnish: cocktail cherry and lime slice

Who am I?  

I'm Roy Halston Frowick, known as Halston. Born April 23, 1932, in Des Moines, Iowa, my fashion passion emerged early. A pivotal moment came in the 1960s when First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy donned my iconic pillbox hat. This propelled me into fame, and my career soared with minimalist, luxe designs adored by celebrities. I launched HALSTON in 1968, symbolizing sophistication with ready-to-wear collections, fragrances, and accessories.
