"Iron Curtain" While we most often credit Whinston Churchill with this one, it is believed by historians to have actually been coined by Qeehn Elizabeth of Belgium in 1914. While the phrase refers to the strength an secrecy behind what once was the Soviet Union (and other Communist countries), it is believed the inspiration was derived from actual fireproof curtains used in European theaters long ago. Good Morning and Happy Tuesday. "In the Groove" "In the groove is actually one of our more recent expressions, and we're happy to claim it as purely American in origin. A product of the Swing Era, "In the Groove" has to do with the advent of the phonograph, more specifically, the needle and the record. If you were into counting grooves, you would find that there is but one long, continuous groove per record. But only in keeping the phonograph needle in the groove can you be assured of keeping the music flowing smoothly. Have a wonderful day.
