Okay friends, I need your help!

Are you getting your appointment confirmations and reminder messages from Foxy Doll?

I’ve had a few people tell me they aren’t receiving them, but on my end everyone is set up to get notifications. I’m not sure if it’s a phone setting, an email setting, or one of those technology things that likes to do whatever it wants.

If you’re a client, can you let me know if you’re getting your reminders? And if you’re not, check to make sure texts or emails from Foxy Doll haven’t been blocked, filtered, or opted out of somehow.

I just had another missed appointment today, and I want to make sure nobody is missing reminders because of a tech issue. Thanks, dolls! ❤️

A few weeks ago, I was convinced I needed a bigger space.

After a lot of thinking, I’ve decided I’m staying right where I am.

Honestly, I think the universe is trying to tell me to quit moving around so damn much. 😂 Between all the states, cities, the RV, the house, and now the business, maybe it’s time to sit still for a minute and make what I already have even better.

The truth is, I don’t need a bigger space right now. I just need some change. If you know me, you know I love reinventing things, rearranging furniture, painting walls, and creating new projects.

And after really thinking about it, I’m probably better off being a one-woman show for now. In today’s industry, nobody is going to care about Foxy Doll the way I do, and that’s okay. This little business is my baby, and right now I’m focusing on making it the best version of itself.

So over the next few weeks, Foxy Doll will be a little bit under construction. Nothing major—just revamping, reorganizing, refreshing, and making things feel new again.

Also, shout-out to the FedEx lady who had to haul these giant boxes down to my salon in the atrium of a 100+ year old building. I’m pretty sure she wasn’t nearly as excited about them as I was. 🤣

New goodies are arriving, new ideas are brewing, and Foxy Doll 2.0 is on the way.

Fellow hairstylists, salon owners, and clients…

Is it just me, or has our industry changed dramatically since COVID?

When I moved to Manitowoc, it took me years to build a solid clientele because there were hairstylists everywhere. Now it seems like many have retired, changed careers, gone part-time, opened salons but no longer work behind the chair, or simply don’t want to work the long hours anymore.

Maybe I’m showing my age, but after almost 30 years in this industry, I still love doing hair. I’m still behind the chair 10-12 hours some days, and I’m still passionate about helping people feel good about themselves.

So I’m genuinely curious:

Hairstylists — what changes have you seen in our industry over the last few years?

Clients — have you noticed it’s harder to get appointments or find a stylist taking new clients?

I’d love to hear everyone’s thoughts.

I think it’s safe to say Bryce won the yard sale this weekend. 💚💛😂

He showed up in his Packers shirt, found this bright yellow fuzzy jacket, and immediately understood the assignment.
