Built in 1829, the Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania was designed to hold 250 inmates. However, at its peak, it held as many as 1,700 prisoners who were literally crammed into the cells. One can imagine the high emotional stress, misery and death that has caused this prison to become haunted.

One of its most famous inmates was Al Capone, who was charged with illegal weapons possession in 1929. According to accounts by Capone, the ghost of James Clark, one of the men Capone murdered in the St. Valentine's Day massacre, haunted and tormented him during his stay.

The Tower of London in London, England has had many executions, murders and tortures within its walls over the last 1,000 years. Many ghost sightings have been reported in and around the Tower.

On one winter day in 1957 at 3:00AM, a guard was disturbed by a loud noise at the top of his guardhouse. When he stepped outside to investigate, he saw a shapeless white figure on top of the tower. On this very same date, February 12, Lady Jane Grey was beheaded in 1554.

While a spooky tale of Grey, the most well-known ghostly resident is actually Ann Boleyn, one of the wives of Henry VIII, who has also beheaded within the Tower in 1536. She has been seen many times by different people, sometimes even carrying her head, on Tower Green and in the Tower Chapel Royal.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev will more than likely have his life taken in the next few hours. Although a maniac, when his flesh is taken, his soul will continue to roam, restless and lost. A confused soul. May even a monster such as the Tsarnaev brothers find peace.

Built in 1796 by General David Bradford, the Myrtles Plantation in St. Francisville, Louisiana is said to be haunted by several restless ghosts. Some researchers estimate that as many as ten murders have been committed there.

Myrtles Plantation is now a bed and breakfast. Many guests report disturbances in the night by ghosts such as Chloe, a former slave, along with the two little girls she murdered, William Drew Winter, at attorney who lived there and was shot by a stranger (this incident has been verified), as well as the ghosts of other slaves. The grand piano has even been reported to play by itself!
