“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭11‬:‭1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Shame is one of the oldest emotions known to mankind.

In Genesis, after Adam and Eve listened to a worldly voice instead of God’s, their first reaction wasn’t anger, pride, or even blame. It was shame. They suddenly became aware of their failure and hid.

Think about that.

The God who created them, walked with them, and loved them wasn’t the one hiding. They were.

Thousands of years later, not much has changed.

We still listen to worldly voices. We still chase things we think will satisfy us. We still get distracted by our desires, our fears, our ambitions, and our need for control. And when we realize we’ve wandered off course, many of us respond exactly like Adam and Eve we hide.

We carry shame.

We learn to joke about it, ignore it, bury it, or pretend it isn’t there, but very few people actually unpack it.

The beautiful thing about the Gospel is that Jesus already knew we would struggle.

He knew we would fall short.

He knew we would disappoint ourselves.

He knew we would need grace long before we ever needed it.

That’s why He came.

Jesus didn’t die because God was surprised by human weakness. He died because God understood it completely.

So if you’re carrying shame today, acknowledge it. Learn from it. Let it teach you. But don’t build a home there.

God woke you up this morning.

You still have air in your lungs.

You still have a purpose.

You still have another opportunity to grow, learn, and draw closer to Him.

Your story isn’t over.

We’re all human. We’re all going to want things. We’re all going to struggle with worldly voices and earthly desires. The answer isn’t perfection. The answer is faith.

Faith that God has been faithful before.

Faith that His grace is still sufficient.

Faith that His plans are better than our own.

And faith that the same God who forgave you yesterday already knew you’d need forgiveness tomorrow.

So instead of carrying shame, carry gratitude.

Thank God for His mercy.

His patience.

For the cross.

Happy Friday. Trust in the things not yet seen, because we could never imagine all that God already knows.

Love Always

There’s something strange about peace when you aren’t used to it.

I’ve lived in Arizona my entire life. Dry desert roads. Familiar places. Predictable routines. I always assumed I was more of a passenger princess than a pilot. I’ve driven all over Arizona, but never really enjoyed it. Driving was just something to tolerate.

Tennessee changed my perspective.

The first time I pulled out of the airport, windows down and music up, something in me settled. I had no idea where I was going besides the occasional directions from Siri, yet somehow I felt calm. Peaceful. Safe. Relaxed.

No fireworks.
No dramatic moment.
No giant sign pointing at the sky saying, “NEW CHAPTER.”

Just peace.

Now that I’m back in the Arizona desert, Tennessee almost feels like a dream. But honestly, isn’t that often how God reveals Himself to us?

We expect God to move through giant moments. We wait for obvious signs, dramatic confirmations, or emotional highs strong enough to shake the ground beneath us. We assume if God is in something, it has to arrive loudly.

But scripture tells a different story.

Jesus often moved quietly. He wasn’t interested in performance or attention. He came to do the Father’s work, not put on a show.

Ruth wasn’t searching for romance when she met Boaz. She was simply looking for work, provision, and peace after loss. Yet in the quiet obedience of her daily life, God was writing a greater story.

David wasn’t chasing fame when he faced Goliath. He was bringing supplies and helping where he could. No parade. No guarantee. Just quiet confidence that God would carry him through.

I think we live in a world addicted to spectacle.

We chase emotional highs, constant stimulation, dopamine hits, attention, excitement, validation always searching for the next thing that makes us feel alive. And because of that, we overlook the quieter gifts God places right in front of us.

The quiet cup of coffee watching the sunrise. That’s the win for me.

Peace.
Contentment.
Stillness.

Sometimes we dismiss calm because it doesn’t feel exciting enough.

But what if calm is the blessing?

If you walked into a library searching for something valuable, you wouldn’t scream about it. You’d move carefully and quietly according to the environment around you.

If you found a winning lottery ticket, your heart might race, but most people wouldn’t announce it to the entire room. They’d hold it close, quietly grateful no one could take it away.

Some blessings are meant to be appreciated quietly.

Sometimes God answers prayers in ways that don’t match our expectations. And if we aren’t careful, we’ll reject the answer simply because it arrived peacefully instead of dramatically.

But things from God often carry a different feeling.

Not confusion.
Not chaos.
Not striving.

Just Peace.

A calm in your soul that doesn’t always make logical sense.

So don’t mistake quietness for emptiness.
Don’t overlook stillness because it isn’t flashy.
And don’t be angry when God answers your prayer differently than you imagined.

Sometimes the quiet moves of God hold the biggest miracles of all.

Love always
