Originally Smith's Grocery until 1992 when Miss Ozell passed away. Buster passed in 1964)

It passed through a handful of owners and different businesses but, eventually was used as a private home. Quickly becoming in disrepair, Tim & Pammie Long purchased it in April 2016 & immediately began restoring it to its' original vision as a Local Owned Store serving any & all who walked through its' door. The Re-Grandopening occurred in October 2016 as DIXIE COUNTRY STORE with members of the Smith Family along with over 100 others in attendance. We are Open Friday 10-3 Saturdays 9-5.

Our SHARE SIZE Homemade Fried Pies are HUGE !

We Slow-Cook our Fillings Down and allow the ingredients to marinate to create that taste y'all remember from Mama's and Grandmama's.

Dough is still Hand-Rolled and Fried One at a Time in an Old Cast Iron Skillet.

Our Pies aren't the cheapest but, when it comes to Food, which do you want to Eat ?

Crust is still rolled out by hand one at a time.

We Fry them using Real Lard & Real Butter. NO SEED OILS or Margarine.

Cooked one at a time in an Old Cast Iron Skillet.

It takes time to cook down our Pie Fillings and then "marinade" all the Flavors from the Secret Spices and Ingredients we put in.

Thanks to The Confederate Cleaner for locating my Great-Grandfather's Grave Site.

For years I had thought He was Buried at Pleasant Ridge in Union County but, due to the Perseverance of my Friend Kevin (Confederate Cleaner) it turns out He is Buried (5) Minutes from our Home in the Ozark Community of Itawamba County !
Ozark Methodist Church Cemetery.

William Hogue was my Grandmother, Mary Elizabeth (Mammie) Speck Ramsey's Grandfather.

Even more ironic is He is Buried beside Buster and Ozell Smith who built and operated the store we now own from 1939-1992.

I always like to say: Mississippi is One Big Small Town.

The Joy in their Eyes when they open that old screen door and walk across those old squeaky floors.

It's what gives us Joy ourselves knowing old memories are being recalled and new memories are being created.
