Originally Smith's Grocery until 1992 when Miss Ozell passed away. Buster passed in 1964)

It passed through a handful of owners and different businesses but, eventually was used as a private home. Quickly becoming in disrepair, Tim & Pammie Long purchased it in April 2016 & immediately began restoring it to its' original vision as a Local Owned Store serving any & all who walked through its' door

. The Re-Grandopening occurred in October 2016 as DIXIE COUNTRY STORE with members of the Smith Family along with over 100 others in attendance. We are Open Friday 10-3 Saturdays 9-5.

We had the pleasure of touring this old 1940's Bottling Plant that is still doing it the Original Way with Original Equipment 😀

We are completing our Purchasing Trip for the Store with one last stop scheduled for tomorrow.

Pammie and I have to say that the Company and its' Team Members in Southern Illinois we deal with have the same Southern Hospitality as anywhere in Mississippi we deal with.

Memories of Growing Up in an Old Bottling Company in Tupelo were brought back today as we toured the Excel Bottling Company in Illinois.

Watching those Glass Bottle Sodas still Made and Bottled there with their Original Cane Sugar Recipe with Rattling of the Glass Bottles bumping against each other while traveling down the conveyor was an Awesome experience.

We huddled inside a Farm Supply store until it passed.
