With today being the 23rd anniversary of the terrorist attacks in New York on Sept. 11, 2001, many are looking back and remembering that tragic day.. They remember those lost, those that suffered, and those still wondering. It is with great sorrow that the world looks back on the date now simply known as 9/11, and remembers the sadness, but they should also look back at it with strength as a day that America actually banded together. Stores ran out of American Flags to sell because they were being flown all across our nation, people were Americans, and proud of it, before they were Republicans or Democrats. People of all sorts were reaching out to love and help one another. On that day, and the weeks after, our nation was truly united instead of so divided like it is this day in time.
Sept. 11, 2024, it has been a little over two decades since that tragic day. Last night, 23 years ago, millions of Americans went to bed quietly, with no thought that the next morning their world would change forever. That night hundreds packed flight bags they would not live to open. Thousands fell asleep lying by loved ones for the very last time. It's hard to believe it was that long ago as it still seems so fresh. No one will ever forget where they were when the news first came to them that the World Trade Center, the Twin Towers, in New York City had been hit by a plane and then another... No one knew what to think or what to do. At that time I didn’t quiet understand. Now that I’m older, as this day rolls around each year, I get emotional and heavy hearted. Becoming a mama will change your heart and perspective about things. I think about all those who were so brave and selfless enough to lay down their own life to run into the buildings without hesitation to help others, I think of the children who lost their parents and the parents who lost their children, I think of all of those who have fought and lost their lives for the freedom of people they have never even met.
As we look back to the events of September 11th, 2001 we remember the bravery, courage, and humanity shown that day, and the many that have followed. Please take time today to remember all rescue personnel, fire fighters, and law enforcement officials that lives were cut short on this tragic day, as well as the soldiers in every military branch that have fought and are currently fighting for our great nation... remember the lives that were lost that day and the lives that have forever been changed. One never knows what a new day has in store. Let us live each day to the fullest, and never miss a chance to let those dearest to us know of our love for them. So today if you have someone in your life that you love, tell them because in a few seconds, minutes, hours, or days it could all be taken away in the blink of an eye..
9/11/2001...
Never forgotten. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
