FYI, the Mars 👽🛸 Brew Fest 🍻 is this Saturday, June 6th from 5-8pm and affected Mars streets will close around 12pm for set up.

We will open Saturday from 10-12, if you’re visiting the Farmers Market stop by, and then we will close and reopen at 4pm for the festival. Hope to see you there!

Last week, another boutique owner stopped into FYIE.

Not to introduce themselves.
Not to say, “I’d love to collaborate sometime.”
Not to support a fellow small business with even a small greeting card purchase.

Instead, they did what many business owners quietly do. They looked around, checked brands, noted pricing, asked a few questions, gathered a little information, and left.

This week, I noticed content that felt strikingly familiar.

And honestly?

It doesn’t bother me.

Partly because FYIE was built on the belief that we should inspire others. If something I’m doing sparks an idea, encourages someone to boost their business, improve their displays or pushes them to try something new, then in many ways that’s a compliment.

Mission accomplished.🛸👽

You may be asking yourself right now, “if it doesn’t bother you, why are you posting about it?” Excellent question! Because we can all grow through a little transparency. Myself included.

I’ve learned something over the years that applies to business, leadership, creativity, and life. Something that was shared with me by an incredibly wise soul and that is this…

People can copy your products.
They can copy your displays.
They can copy your marketing.
They can even copy your ideas.

What they can’t copy is YOUR story. YOUR is the Y in FYIE.

They can’t copy the years of experiences that shaped your perspective.
They can’t copy your voice.
They can’t copy your relationships.
They can’t copy your values.
And they certainly can’t copy your swagger.

Because your swagger isn’t in what you sell.

It’s in who you are.

There’s only one you.

And that’s the one thing no competitor can ever put on a shelf.

Happy Mother’s Day!

A Mother’s Day poem from our founder to you…

She stood behind you,
Not sure if you’d fall.
Ready to jump,
If the occasion should call.

She cheered on the sidelines,
Beaming with pride.
And held you softly,
When failure made you cry.

She prayed for your dreams,
Though you may not have known.
She was willing to give anything,
She even offered up her own.

There were times you hurt her feelings,
And times you broke her heart.
Chances are you never knew it,
by the brightness of her spark.

She lit every shadow,
And brightened your way,
Her strength was your shelter,

Small Update: After a pretty big floor set change last evening, we made the difficult decision that while we had hoped to keep a small children’s section in the boutique, we simply don’t have the space. As a result, all children’s clothing currently in stock is now on clearance 75% off.

We will keep the children’s books, stuffies 🐝 and small gifts, so it’s not all bad 😉
