UAW Local 893

09/23/2026

Last week UAW Local 893 Unit 11 - Lennox started contract negotiations with the company. As companies try to take bits and pieces away from our union brothers and sisters that the union has fought so strongly for over the past several years, these guys are fighting to keep it all and trying to gain a few things as well. Please give them all grace, kindness, and words of encouragement! Being on the shop committee is a thankless job. They are working hard for you!

Now with summer coming to an end, it means our monthly Rank-n-File meetings are starting back up. This Saturday, September 12th, we start off with our Unit 11 - Lennox Rank-n-File at 10:00 am. Then next Saturday, September 19th is the Local 893 Amalgamated Rank-n-File at 9:00 am with Unit 1 - Fisher/Emerson following that meeting immediately. Coming to the monthly meetings keeps everyone informed of things that are happening at our local and within each unit. Attending the monthly meetings are highly encouraged so everyone knows what is going on. We hope to see you there!

Calling all Union Brothers and Sisters! Local 1024 is entering another week of a strike with Novolex/Evergreen. We want to do what we can to help so please consider donating items that they are needing.
We are collecting donations here at the UAW Local 893 in hopes of delivering the items on September 9th at their scheduled rally. We will take items until the 8th. Let’s show our support and let them know we are here supporting them!

Just a reminder we will be closed on Monday, May 25th in observance of Memorial Day.

A little reminder of why we have Memorial Day.

Memorial Day is a solemn federal holiday in the United States observed on the last Monday of May. It is dedicated to mourning and honoring the U.S. military personnel who died while serving in the Armed Forces.

We are deeply saddened by the sudden loss of our Union Brother Greg "Porky" Oetker. He held the Recording Secretary position as well as being a Unit 11 Shop Committee member at Local 893 over the years before he retired in December. Please keep his wife Mary and his family in your thoughts during this time.

View Greg Scott Oetker's obituary, send flowers, find service dates, and sign the guestbook.
