With a grateful heart, after 27 years, I am closing the doors to Claire & Schuster.
When I opened in 1999, I never could have imagined what it would become. It started as a place to meet with my interior design clients. Then it grew. We went from 1 building to 2, added merchandise, expanded the offerings, and eventually added the boutique. Somewhere along the way, it became so much more than a business though. It became a place where friendships were made, people smiled, hung out, ideas were shared, beautiful homes came to life, merchandise was bought and so many wonderful people became part of my world through it.
It wasn’t always easy, but it was always an adventure, and that was a whole lot of fun! So, closing the doors is an emotional decision, but the reason has me excited for what is yet to come!
My dear friend Angie Bryant, the owner of The Color Shop, is giving me an opportunity that honestly feels like an answer to a question I did not even know I was asking. She invited me to join her team and help create a new division, The Color Shop Design Studio. I am so excited because this is not me walking away from what I love at all. It is me choosing to keep doing it; to design, to create, and to dream up beautiful spaces for you and your home through The Color Shop!
But before I turn the page, I need to take a moment to appreciate the chapter I am leaving behind.
To every customer, client, friend, and supporter who has walked through the doors of Claire & Schuster over these 27 years — thank you dearly.

Thank you for cheering me on.
And thank you for making this business such a meaningful part of my life!
Claire & Schuster is closing, but my love for design is not. I’m closing one very important chapter with a full heart and opening another with so much excitement and gratitude! This is not goodbye to the work I love. It is goodbye to the way I’ve been doing it, and hello to a wonderful opportunity continuing to create beautiful spaces for you through The Color Shop Design Studio.
And that is what makes my heart so happy!
