This was made by Judy B and Ercel B for a graduating niece/granddaughter. I had never quilted anything like this and hope I did it well.

This is one of my most favorite works for many reasons. 1. My daughter, Desi, and I made this together. She picked the fabrics, the pattern, and did most of the piece sewing. 2. it was Desi’s gift to a very special friend. 3. It was the most customized work I have ever long-arm quilted using all of my skill and tools. 4. This quilt took months of every available hour to make and quilt. Many days were 12 hours of solid work. It’s a queen-size floor to floor so like wrestling an alligator. 5. If this had been ordered by a customer, this would have been a $2000 quilt.

This special quilt was made by Ruth F. as a special gift to her daughter in law. 🥰

Sorry I have not posted much in a while. I was in the hospital after Thanksgiving and am still on the mend. My mother-in-law went into the hospital the same week and passed 12/21. Here are pictures of items quilted before things got messy. 🙂

Ok all those out there that sew: I saw this picture in one of my quilting magazines the other day and wondered who on earth sews this way?! One hand on the fabric the other holding coffee not even by the mug’s handle?!!! I don’t even allow fluids or food near my stuff let alone take a hand off the work! Crazy advertisers! As if buying their machine will make it so easy I can drink coffee while using it. Lol

This was a super custom quilt. I did three lines of text, changed threads multiple times using 5 different colors. The all over design mimics the border fabric of having pine branches with oak leaves and an acorn. Each row of 0.88 inch curls for clouds in the background of the cardinal was 2765 stitches. For more than 87,000 stitches just for the clouds. The quilt was super special as it was a long work in progress for my mom as a gift for her oldest sister. The last two pictures are mom giving her 91 years young sister the quilt. ❤️

The ladies of the First United Methodist Church Quilters’ Guild brought their collection to the sanctuary for dedicating them into service through various ministries. It was awesome to see what these ladies create and to know I have loved on a great many of them while quilting them. These pictures are a bit dark but the quilts are on both ends of every pew, across the front row tailing, hanging from the mezzanine, on the altar, piano, and pulpit. 116 in total! Thank you ladies for letting me be a part of it.

Second update: this quilt sold for $395 at auction! More than any other quilts!!! Super stoked about all the funds our quilters raised for Care Train.

Update: this quilt will be going to the Care Train auction to sell for raising funds to buy Christmas presents and food for those in need.

Dorla made this cute quilt large enough to serve as a queen topper or twin beadspread. I had fun layering on more snow and more snow people.
