I think you should know nice things about your friends. We are friends, right?
I really like cosmos.
If you’ve been here a bit, you already knew that. Their weedy, tenacious little bobble heads, delicate but actually tough. Popping up wherever they are planted, and sometimes where they are not. Sidewalk cracks are as comfortable as a loamy landscaped garden patch. And— they give and give and give. Long after all the other summer flowers have quit their sun and root reaching, cosmos are here for a good time and a long time.
Maybe because my birthday is in October and all I’m left with are sunflowers and mums and asters and all things orange and red and brown (no thank you), I’m greatful they stick around so long, that there are still dancing and delicate petals to push into my greedy, flower loving hands.
Thanks, Ferjulian's Farm - you grow great ones. XO
The annual Summer Send Off Sale starts tomorrow, and if you want deals on dresses, baskets, bags, shoes and sandals, sunglasses, and summer decor— we will see you at 11am sharp.
The following Saturday is Maynard’s downtown sidewalk sale and I am pulling up old old back stock, my stash of antique longerberger baskets, and a lot of random do-dads priced to move.
PLUS— a small run of mystery boxes stuffed with $100 worth of goodies for $25. It’s a party.
