I love how this T-shirt/ memory quilt turned out. I had this plan in my head of what I wanted to do it’s a really cool layout and then I got the shirts and most of them were blank. This meant scrapping my original game plan and coming up with a whole new layout.

I’ve taken my backlog of 21 shop quilts that need binding done with me as I spend time with my sister Joy and her family. For the 2 quilts out of the On the Farm collection I did one binding straight and one bias cut. Ms Viva was my assistant.

Memory projects used to be so difficult for me, partly because of growing up as the middle of 9 children and clothes were always hand me downs. And a little because I know the heart break that these family members are feeling. When we get memory pillows or quilts I focus on the comfort and joy these gifts will bring their recipients. @ Quacky Quilter Haberdashery

I’m very happy with how this commissioned anniversary quilt turned out. The client’s father served in the navy. designed the layout, completed the embroidery work & used her Gamill longarm to quilt it. We used a navy flag for the center medallion. I used colorworks to frame the flag. @ Quacky Quilter Haberdashery

I love making T-shirt quilt, having the opportunity to make a keepsake for someone who will treasure it. This quilt had an abundance of shirts to use so I made a medallion centerpiece out of the smaller pieces and pieced some of the shirts together to make a larger block. The young lady this quilt belongs to moved to college this week and I wish her the best of luck and the hopes for a bright future. @ Quacky Quilter Haberdashery

I’m happy to have this second graduation quilt top finished for the year. I know that T-shirt quilts are a love them or hate them style for quilters, I fall it the love them camp!!! My daughter who is going to do the longarm quilting for this project also did the vinyl work for the bottom border. 🎓
