PS- did you know that as the owner of Creek+Elm I actually HAVE all these earrings? I mean, I suppose that's kind of obvious. But I literallly have all of these in my jewelry box and wear all 5 of these styles, in this pattern, all. the. time.

There are a lot of things I knew would be hard about running a small business.

I did NOT realize how many of them would involve trying to convince earrings to behave. 😂

Anything with a little shape to it absolutely refuses to lay flat when I’m trying to photograph it.

Swivel hooks are great because they let an earring move naturally when you wear it. They're less great when Zach or Nellie has the camera ready, I turn my head, and suddenly one earring has spun completely backwards.

Apparently designing and making the earrings is only part of the job. The rest is getting them to sit still, face the right direction, and occasionally remembering to make sure we have all the right photos taken!

Is there anything in your job that's come as a total surprise?

Jeans. Shirt. Earrings.

Decide the shirt is wrong.

Change shirt.

Put the original shirt back on.

Keep the earrings.

Apparently the quickest way to realize your kids aren't little anymore is to schedule family pictures.

Seriously. Who are these almost-grown people and what did they do with my babies?

I love this stage of life. I miss some of the old ones too. And somehow I'm sure five years from now I'll look at this picture and think- "look how little they were." ❤️
