Up for bid in tonight’s sale! A rare Model 2001 Electronic Organ manufactured by Thomas in 1976.
This space age beauty was known amongst artists like Stevie Wonder for its warm synth sounds and unique instrument voicings. The organ includes the matching bench, glass music stand, and original service manuals complete with wiring diagrams.
The motherboard on the unit is easily accessible through a flip top. The entire piece has a beautiful space age aesthetic complemented by a rosewood veneer top. The unit powers on and plays. All of the keys of the organ produce sound, and the pedals work. Some features don’t appear functional, including the switches that control the instrument voicings. Some features work, such as the auto pedal and drum machine however the buttons for the drum machine have trouble staying on.
There’s a cool feature on the organ called “Color Glo” which illuminates the keys. photos online indicate the top keyboard should illuminate, however on our unit only the bottom keyboard shows illumination. Overall it is a beautiful and unique instrument that is sure to look good in your home and offer many hours of fun.
