Contest Winners and new contest.
I am not one to get into celebrity news, and maybe you are over hearing about the passing of Dolly Parton, but Dolly holds a special place in my heart and her passing is one that just stung a little and yes made me shed a tear. She touched so many and was an example of what a celebrity should be Caring, Funny and just overall a good person. Seeing how many people she touched that spanned so many different genres, beliefs, etc. showed the impact she had. Someone that has tributes spanning from Eminem to Taylor Swift to Pitbull to leaders worldwide shows the impact she had. What does she have to do with The Big Red Wagon you ask?
Well if you know Dolly's story then you know she gave more then she cared about receiving, she didnt care about the money she cared about helping others. She couldn't have children herself yet gave to them and wanted to make sure children felt special in the world. She also came from nothing and her family lived on hand me downs and handmade clothing.
She valued so many things that The Big Red Wagon supports, giving families an opportunity to not only make extra money, by becoming a seller, but also allowing shoppers to save so much money and buy their children items at a fraction of retail. Helping families that cannot afford to shop in Big Box stores and making their children feel like a million dollars in their new wardrobes. This is just to mention a few.
For today's contest, do you have a favorite Dolly Parton song or quote she lived by? Or even a memory? Share it below and be entered into a contest for $25 in Wagon Bucks.
Some of my favorites include:
Song: Older song for me is the ever iconic "Jolene," a very unknown one for many but it is a recent one "Powerful Women," by Pitbull feat. Dolly Parton its a great song talking about Working Moms, Single Moms and growing up having to work hard.
Quote: SO so many but if you know me I tend to generally always have a smile on my face, a smile can change someones day. The quote Dolly Parton said was "Leave a little sparkle wherever you go," and another favorite was "Don't get so busy making a living, that you forget to make a life,"
Memory: This one is hard for me, but one of my favorites was my grandma, who has now passed, loved Dolly Parton and we were at a lip sync contest for my sister. I was only about 2-3 years old and a young girl dressed up like her and a young boy dressed like Kenny Rogers and they did the duet to "Islands in the Stream," my grandma was just so excited and kept laughing and laughing with joy. My grandpa videotaped the performance, which is how I remember it so well, and still to this day I can hear my grandmas laugh watching this performance. I treasure it so much.
In either case, you do not have to list something from all three categories just one to be entered. I just wanted to get the ball rolling.
