Greetings my loves and lovelies!

Long time no see!

I sincerely apologize. I am still working on the glow up of my studio, which may not be complete before the end of the year.

For full transparency: my last remaining grandparent, my maternal grandfather, my Papaw, passed away at the age of 100 in March of this year.

By an INCREDIBLY generous MIRACLE, the kind and generous grandfather my Papaw was chose to leave me a monetary gift, and to leave my Mini with an equally funded 529 account for her educational needs, both current and for college.

This wasn't a "I can quit the court process for my disability, my husband and I never have to work again, immediate lifestyle change" money... but it was nonetheless absolutely LIFE CHANGING money for us.

We were able to call on the 529 account for things my daughter needed for school (clothes, book fair money, other educational-related expenses), and we were able to use my inheritance for a number of projects the house absolutely needed (a deep clean-- which I cannot recommend enough if you ever have the opportunity; it has done so much for my mental health! I literally cried and tipped the cleaners an amount I've always wanted to be able to give someone who has done "dirty" work for me!), catching up on ALL our pets yearly shots and checkups, and a year of their flea and tick prevention, ALL AT ONCE, instead of having to space it all out, getting our garbge disposal fixed and our dishwasher replaced.

The organization and glow up for my studio was last on the list. We were going to do it on a much tighter budget that it actually needed.

But then, by some other absolute miracle, my uncle, the executor of my Papaw's estate, has recently discovered a forgotten life insurance policy with my mother as the sole recipient, and has decided I should have that money. It's not much, but it IS enough to do my studio right and then some, and I am just SO UNBELIEVABLY GRATEFUL for it.

The downside is that since it was forgotten, it has to go through probate court for payout. Therefore, it's entirely possible that I will not see this money before the end of this year, if not early next year.

I have bought a lot of materials and pieces for products, but some I can't put my hands on most until the studio gets organized.

This DOES have SOME benefits for you, though:

Namely, I will be working on pieces I CAN make to build an available inventory while I wait.

Pouring resin will be hard but not impossible, and I'm now pouring Eco-Resin on the regular.

So while bespoke and made to measure stuff is on pause for a bit, I will be making stuff that can be bought and shipped immediately! And rest assured, we'll be doing our best to have plenty of gifty inventory for the Christmas buying season! (I'm especially looking forward to doing some experimentation with eco and epoxy resin in cameo pieces!)

That also means that if you see anything you like, in colors you like, you can snap it up IMMEDIATELY with ZERO waiting period for it to be made!

Thanks for hanging in with me! I can't wait to show you what comes next!

❤️-

~M~

Guys, CSR is dipping out for a sec. (Perhaps a few weeks to a month?)

BUUUUUT... When we come back, we will have THE STUDIO GLOWUP completed!!

Hopefully this means more room for me to do better work!

I am SO excited for all this, as much as I hate to go go dark on you all, I hope you'll love what's coming!

Just a couple of experiments, lol.

Purple marigold earrings on the left and a pink and purple dandelion charm on the right.

I LOVE the marigold earrings, they give me such a "50's housewife" vibe.

(I think they'd give that esthetic even more in

I have metal stamps for a dandelion big/little set-- dandelion for the big and a piece of dandelion fluff for the little-- that I hope to be able to show you once my studio/office renovation is completed. (Soon!)

A word about materials:

SEED BEADS/BUGLE BEADS:

I mentioned earlier this year that I was switching all my beads and moving away from Czech Glass. As of April, all of the seed beads and bugle beads I use in CSR designs are Miyuki, Miyuki Delica, or Japanese seed beads. These beads are 100% glass, like Czech beads, but they have the added benefit of being uniform in size. They are slightly more expensive than Czech glass seed beads, but the difference price-wise is really negligible.

HOWEVER, there are some BEAD MIXES that I use that DO contain size E beads and seed beads that are Czech glass.

If I use these bead mixes in a project or order, I WILL tell you. That's mainly for transparency, but also because you will be able to see a difference between Japanese and Czech seed beads*.

The only real difference is the fact that Japanese seed beads are uniform in size and Czech seed beads are not. Both are GLASS, not acrylic or plastic.

OTHER BEAD TYPES:

In addition to seed beads, I PRIMARILY use glass, Swarovski crystal, and semi-precious gemstone (SPG) beads, along with semi-precious gemstone chips in CSR designs.

This includes

HOWEVER, there are some designs and types of jewelry in which I include acrylic beads.

Any design that includes the round letter/number beads contains acrylic beads, because that's what ALL varieties (including the metallic, glitter, and glow in the dark varieties) of the letters and number beads are made of.

I also have some star and heart beads that are acrylic, along with some cat's eye effect and some dreamy/cloudy/foggy effect beads that are acrylic.

I have also begun ordering acrylic flower beads along with some glass flower beads.

This is for several reasons:

Number one is simply that there are some BEAUTIFUL beads that are only available in acrylic.
I won't overlook them simply because they aren't glass.

Second is weight, especially in earrings. The glass, crystal, and SPG can be a bit heavy on the ears depending upon how many beads there are in the design.

Finally, I like to use acrylic beads in designs that are made for (or going to) kids. They're a little bit more resilient in case your kiddo (or you) wants to wear their item constantly.

The price difference between the glass and acrylic is negligible.

HOWEVER I have ALWAYS been and will ALWAYS be transparent with my customers about what type of beads are (or will be) used in the pieces they order, especially if/when some of the beads are acrylic, so I wanted to explain that and make sure we're all on the same page.

Hopefully I will have some new stuff to show you soon!

The studio glow up will be coming this summer (🤞🏻), so you may be seeing more pics of old stuff (or I might disappear for a minute) than of new stuff, but once we're done with that I hope to be much more consistently posting new designs! Stay tuned!

😘

~M.

* If you're interested in seeing the difference between the two types of seed bead (individually or as a whole), I'm happy to provide reference pictures.

First of all: Shout-out to ALL the Important Mermaids! If you're not following Stephen Spencer's (and his 3 year old daughter's!) and jamming to Important Mermaid, Regular Rabbit, and ofc Apple Man (bc who doesn't love Apple deStoola?) You should be!

Now then: In case you missed it... my studio is getting a DESPERATELY NEEDED glow up with more storage and work space and ACTUAL ORGANIZATION!

I want to get into how this is able to happen with you guys for a couple reasons, so I will be posting a fairly long, text heavy post (or maybe 2 separate ones) on Facebook tonight or tomorrow about not only that, but also a little housekeeping note about the materials I use in my designs.

I'm drafting first, so it may be Monday at the latest, but do stay tuned!

Easing back in with a few more things...

First Pic are keychains made from a brand new mold I got yesterday from and I LOVE it!

Second Pic is a little fidget ring I threw together-- memory wire with a floating rhinestone that moves all the way around the band. I have a bunch of different shapes of stones that this can be made with!

I have several more fidget rings design ideas I hope to be trying soon, so stay tuned!
