DadzBodzco

DadzBodzco DadzBodz was thought up by a dad. Joshua Crawford, the owner of DadzBodz, realized one day he had a message he wanted to share.

A message that is meant to uplift fathers and men of all dynamics and give them their flowers every day.

DadzBodzCo strongly believes everyone's mental health is important. When you see men dying by su***de almost 4x as much as women then it becomes blatantly obvious there is a major disconnect with men's mental health in our society. Men aren't dying by su***de for no reason. A lot of the time people are completely shocked when they do because THEY DON'T TALK ABOUT IT.

How many lives could be saved if men grew up in a society that allowed them to be in touch with their emotions instead of calling them sissys for crying or telling them to man up.

We know to much now to let these numbers be ignored. The only way this will ever change is if each of us makes our own mental health important as well as looking at the person next to us and asking them "Are you okay?"

I challenge you whether you are man, woman, or non-binary to ask the people in your life a new question this week. Something besides "How are you?"

Ask them "On a scale of 1-10, 10 being the best and 1 the worst, where does your mental health fall on the scale today and why?"

According to Black Mental Health Matters website, "In research studies, Black people have indicated that mild depression or anxiety would be viewed as “crazy” in their social circles. Many of those interviewed also believe that discussions about mental illness would not be appropriate even among family."

In the United States, 13.4 % of the population identify as black/African American. Of those over 16% have reported having a mental illness in the past year. That's over 7 MILLION People.

We must break the Mental Health Stigma in all communities. You are not crazy. Your feelings are valid. It's okay to not be okay!

Please hit me up in my DM if you ever need to talk. You are not alone.

Mens Mental Health Matters Too!!

When was the last time you asked your dad, brother, boyfriend, husband, son, cousin, uncle, or guy friends how they are feeling?

Men don't show signs of depression the same way women do. We don't often think to check in on men because of the "Man Up" mentality. I challenge you to check in with the men in your life and encourage them to share their feelings with you in a safe space. You might save a life if you do so.

Cheers to 2022. Everything I do is for my girls, for my family. I focus on being tuned in, tapped in to my own mental health to make sure I am the best father I can be for these girls. I can’t wait to see what comes together for our family this year.
