Today marks one year since my choir sang in Carnegie hall...and one year since the Manhattan blackout prevented our sister choirs from having their moment onstage. So much has happened in the past year. It’s been a lot of hard. So much hard that I sometimes forget to look for the blessings inside the trials. There is so much to be grateful for. I am always grateful for music. I am grateful for this country! Yes, even with everything going on, this is still a great place to live! My challenge to you this week is to look for the good because it’s there! Choose gratitude and kindness and it will always come back to you!

Hey hey and happy Monday! It’s been a while since I told y’all about myself so her are some weird random facts about me:

1. I watch Alias every summer. If you haven’t seen it, you need to watch it now. It’s on Prime Video. You’re welcome.

2. I’m weirdly obsessed with planners. I have three planners right now and they make me happier than almost anything.

3. I have more athletic clothes than any other kind of clothing. It’s becoming a real problem 😂!

4. I have an obscene number of fabulous shoes, but i have problems with my feet so I wear the same pair of fit flops almost every day.

5. I love Oreos. I would eat them for every meal if I could!

“Those who bring sunshine to the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves.” My mom sent me a sticker with this quote on it while I was in grad school and I’ve had it stuck to my mirror ever since. My favorite song to sing to my nieces is “You Are My Sunshine.” I really like the idea that we are capable of being a light for someone else! How are you bringing the sunshine today?

I never thought I’d enjoy a vest as much I’ve loved this amazing leopard print Joy! (Swipe left for a then and now pic!) I love the look of layering without the added bulk of a sweater and her length is a dream for my 5’11” frame! One time I wore this little number to work and my students asked me if I was wearing a cape. So I guess when I wear the Joy, I’m a superhero. I’ll sure miss her, but I can’t wait to see what else is in store! Maybe actual superhero capes?
