This piece is a vintage mid-century framed watercolor print depicting the picturesque village of Morcote on the shores of Lake Lugano, Switzerland, created by the French artist Nicolas Markovitch (who signed his watercolor landscapes under the pseudonym “Marc”).
Nicolas Markovitch (1894–1964), a prolific French artist and watercolorist well-known for his architectural and landscape prints distributed across Europe and North America during the 1930s and 1940s.Subject: The scenic waterfront of Morcote in the Swiss canton of Ticino, highlighting its distinct Mediterranean style architecture and the prominent bell tower of the Santa Maria del Sasso church overlooking the lake.
This is a very high quality lithograph print from the 1940s, very hard to tell the difference from the original.
