Most likely my last wedding gown of the year. And WHAT a gown! Totally couture! Style, elegance, grace… with these wonderful flowing strands that lended so much versatility to styling the dress. Unfortunately I only got one pic of style variations.
And what a gorgeous bride! And beautiful mother as well!!! Love mother and daughter pics! Such a special time to share together.
Alterations done: Bodice and hip area taken in. All layers shortened and bustle.

I also received this in the mail yesterday with such a thoughtful note on the back! I have the best clients!
I don’t think I’ve ever posted a note sent to me before…dunno, seemed personal and I didn’t want to seem arrogant.
So for all you who HAVE sent me notes or gifts and I haven’t posted them, I have been truly touched again and again

Remember this bride? She wanted a short fun dress for her rehearsal made from her mother’s wedding dress— she just sent me pics of the event! So thoughtful of her! Isn’t she gorgeous!

A project for a recent client…helping to make a memory.

What a complete joy to help this beautiful gal make her dress, “really hers!” She loved the dress (2nd pic) but it was much too low for her comfort AND she really wanted long sleeves as well. Getting the bodice to fit perfectly is always the first thing that needs to be done. You can see in the 3rd pic how the shoulder is pinned up getting the waist and bust to fall right. Then there are darts marked with pins, also places where the arm holes will be recut and some other marks to myself. (Of course the lace is pulled off the dress body before the darts are made THEN the lace goes back covering the stitch lines.) She bought the sleeves (pic 4) on Etsy which we narrowed a bit as she felt they were too poofy for the dress style. The neck line was built up, the adjusted sleeves sewn in and NOW the dress was all that she wanted, and she is glowing!

This is my “statuesque” bride. Tall and beautiful and so very lovely. What a joy to help making this classically styled gown fit her to a tee.
I know I’ve hit it right when the bride can’t stop smiling!
