Audre Lorde was a poet, writer, feminist, and LGBTQ+ activist who used her voice to challenge injustice and create space for those often left out of the conversation. As a Black le***an woman, she spoke boldly about identity, equality, and the power of embracing every part of who we are.

Her words reminded us that our differences are not weaknesses—they are sources of strength.

Day 6 Barbara Gittings 🌈

Long before LGBTQ+ rights gained mainstream attention, Barbara Gittings was demanding change. She believed that every gay and le***an person deserved to live openly, proudly, and without shame.

Barbara organized some of the first gay rights demonstrations in the United States, fought to remove homosexuality from the list of mental illnesses, and worked to ensure LGBTQ+ people could find themselves represented in books, libraries, and public life.

Her message was simple but powerful: visibility matters.

Because of pioneers like Barbara Gittings, generations of LGBTQ+ people have been able to see themselves, find community, and live more authentically.

Pride exists because brave people like Barbara refused to stay silent. 🌈
