and , our third ThriftCon style interview. 🍨🍓
Chris spoke about his style as a balance between his own designs and a brand he grew up loving, one that he’s now had the opportunity to work with. There’s something so meaningful about that kind of full-circle moment, when what once inspired you becomes part of your present.
Dani shared that the way she dresses is rooted in her inner child. Holding onto that sense of joy and nostalgia, and letting that guide how she shows up. Someone called her Strawberry Shortcake, and it couldn’t have been more fitting. The gingham lace shorts, the Kuromi Baby Milo, the Onitsuka Tigers. Playful, intentional, and full of personality.
They both spoke about their connection to Tokyo and the influence it’s had on how they see fashion. Chris spent time there during a residency, and they described how naturally vintage is woven into daily life and culture. The markets, the styling, the energy.
They mentioned that felt like the closest they’ve felt to being back in the Tokyo vintage scene since returning to the U.S., which meant a lot for us to be a part of!
We loved their perspective, their energy, and their looks.
Thank you both for sharing with us!
