Boondoggle Basics

Good afternoon, everyone!
This post may be long.. please bear with me to the end though. It's pretty important :)
I have agonized over doing this for a couple weeks now. I don't want to, because I love this job. But I know I have to.

This year has been amazing. You guys have given me the opportunity to stay home with my kids and craft some fun outfits. I love that I get to do what I enjoy, and still be present for this season in my kids lives. It is truly a blessing, and it's made possible because of you! I have had the wonderful privilege of developing some really neat connections and friendships with you guys as well, and I thank you so much for that opportunity!

For those that don't know my life outside of Boondoggle Basics, I am the wife of a farmer; we manage a large cattle farm in VA, and have our own small scale operation where we sell egg shares locally. We love this life, and have been blessed tremendously by it.
However, with that comes a pretty heavy work load.
We also homeschool our kids (4, 2, and 12 weeks), and this is also a blessing to us.

Here's where all that changes though: Although I love doing what I do with Boondoggle, we have approached a season where I will now have to shelve this marvelous adventure for an undetermined length of time as we pursue the path we feel like God is directing us toward.

Regrettably, I will be closing Boondoggle at the end of October, so that we can get things ready for this next season of our lives.

Those that have open orders with me will have them fulfilled and shipped. Those that i have spoken to, and have requested customs with me will also have them fulfilled if they so wish, but I will not be taking any more on.

The in stock inventory I have, of ready to ship items will be discounted and sold, so keep an eye out for an album listing all of those!

Once current customs are finished, and all or most current inventory sold off, I will be closing down the facebook and etsy pages and all other social media outlets. This will officially be done/completed by October 31st.

I may or may not pick this back up in the future. I would really love to, honestly, but I do not know when that will be.

Who is ready for the big store stocking August 2nd?! Here's a sneak peak of what is going on behind the scenes.

I am so ready to come back from maternity leave, and what better way to do that, than to have a bunch of ready-to-ship items available!

This week, my little sister is hanging out with us, and I'm getting some fantastic help with the baby, and with work! We knocked out cutting patterns for 13 pairs of grow with me pants, a few rompers, pant/shirt sets and baby gown sets yesterday, and will get the majority sewn up between today and tomorrow in preparation for the store stocking.
Woo! I'm excited!

Ever feel like the kids control your marriage?
I know I do, and it's exhausting. It's almost like we've forgotten how to talk to each other if it doesn't involve the kids.
This is a great read, and a good reminder.
"You can be great parents and still be great lovers."

Will they see their rings only as costly jewelry, or will they see them as a reminder of a sacred and costly calling to lay down their lives for each other?
